Episode 4 Artist Series - Kate Witmer
For our fourth and final installment of our technician series, we have our amazing hair stylist and co-owner, Kate!
Kate has always had an interest in the beauty industry. Ever since she was young, Kate was dyeing her own hair. Jane, her mom, always made sure her hair got done by working in and out of salons. Kate would also join her mom during college at beauty shows which made her more aware of the industry. After graduating from Temple University with her BBA in international business and marketing, she wanted to be more invested in the world of cosmetology. She started her education at the Lancaster School of Cosmetology, graduating in the spring of 2012!
She started doing bridal hair and makeup as it was something she could take off with. The first wedding she worked at was in 2013, a whole decade ago!
Her favorite products at Studio 8 include our Circadia lineup which have left her skin better than ever. She also loves our Colorproof clarifying shampoo and their moisture line. She absolutely loves and always recommends the TextureCharge Styling Spray and the SuperPlump Whipped Bodifying Mousse!
In her personal life, Kate is excited for her wedding in May and to start a family! With the Studio, she’s always working towards continuing her education, and loved her time at the International Beauty Show this past weekend. She’s very excited for how the salon is growing and how we’re always making improvements.
Her favorite part of what she does is doing transformations for everyone. She gets a real thrill out of letting people see their full potential, that they didn’t even know was there. It’s always exciting for her to see the before and after! Her favorite services to perform are bridal hair and makeup, hair extensions, and enhancing natural hair color.
With her role as co-owner of Studio 8, there are days where it’s a heavy load with being emotionally invested in everything including employees and clients. But she feels like she’s exactly where she needs to be.It’s a good challenge and it’s always pushing her to grow and better herself.
